Cercado de Lima, 2006
Nexos originates as a catalyzer of urban renovation in the Cercado neighborhood, by joining Dansey street and Dos de Mayo Plaza with a pedestrian street, taking advantage of the renovations recently completed in the Plaza.
The project proposes the creation of an active public space in the interior of existing urban blocks (common services, meeting spaces, and parking) that will serve as a generator of a sense of community and it will also insert this space in the existing system of urban spaces within the city.
The project has a total area of 3,910m2, 45 apartments (12 duplex of 70m2 and 33 flats of 68m2).
The design seeks a total flexibility in the interior distribution in order to offer various configurations. For that reason, fixed elements like the kitchen and the bathrooms were accommodated along the periphery, liberating them from the interior space. The apartments have at least 5 different configurations in which, according to the various family needs, unities can have 1, 2, 3 or 4 dormitories and always have a kitchen, bathroom and balcony.
